The Lakehead University Women's Volleyball team competes in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference in Ontario, Canada and is looking for your help to assist with the high costs associated with running a post-secondary volleyball program in a remote part of the province of Ontario.  Located in Thunder Bay, the Lakehead Women’s Volleyball team is one of the most travelled post-secondary volleyball teams in the country due to our proximity to our counterparts in the OUA. With costs of flights, rental vehicles, fuel, and hotels climbing all over the country this has made the cost of regular season travel increase significantly over the past few seasons. The rise of these travel related expenses makes it difficult to purchase new equipment, team apparel, and have a meaningful pre-season and Christmas break exhibition schedule to prepare for regular season play.
 

“The student-athletes involved in the Lakehead Women’s Volleyball program are a dedicated group of individuals that work hard on the court everyday to get the program to a place where we are a competitive team in the OUA year in and year out playing against the best women’s volleyball teams in the country.  This group is one that takes their academics extremely seriously and consistently are one of the top academic varsity teams at Lakehead University. This has led to program alumni staying in Thunder Bay after graduation and securing positions within the community that positively impact our city and region.”
