Launched By:

Cheryl D'Angelo, Director Student Health & Wellness; Co-Chair Food Security Committee

Runs from:

Thursday, August 1, 2024 to Friday, April 30, 2027

The Food Security for Students project aims to reduce student hunger at Lakehead University so students can concentrate on their academic success.

Your gift helps fund programs such as:

  • Emergency food support

  • Free or low-cost campus meals

  • Nutrition education and hands-on cooking demonstrations

  • Subsidized access to fresh, healthy food

  • Food-rescue and surplus-food redistribution

  • Student-led food initiatives

This project advances the work of the Lakehead University Food Security Committee, a collaborative initiative of the Student Affairs Office that includes student leaders, faculty, and staff. Your contribution gives the Committee flexibility to respond to students’ immediate and evolving food security needs.
