Universities are spaces for deep learning and transformation, as well as for professional career preparation. Approximately 150 institutions have installed one on their campuses.

Lakehead’s Labyrinth Project addresses three key areas, reflecting the University’s mission:

  • Learning – multi, and trans-disciplinary, self-guided or facilitated, arts integration and aesthetic experience
  • Wellness – practices mindfulness, meditation thereby reducing stress and improved mental and physical health
  • Community Engagement – enhances the physical and visual environment, encourages university, school and community collaboration, and creates a space for University and public celebrations

The funds will assist in the site preparation, hard and soft landscaping elements, as well as amenities required to fully realize the project, based on architectural plans.
