Call for Abstracts

The 2nd International Forest Biorefining Conference (IFBC) and 4th International Symposium on Lignocellulosic Materials (ISLM) will bring together individuals and organizations from diverse disciplines and sectors who are involved in research, policy, practice and business.

The 2019 conference theme is:


Presenters are invited to share best practices, innovative solutions and significant advancements that are directly relevant to one of the following topics.

1) Biomass; 2) Biorefining; 3) Biofuels; 4) Bioproducts; and, 5) Bioeconomy.

If you would like to present at the conference, you must submit an abstract as directed below.

Who should apply?

We welcome abstract submissions from academic and industry researchers, manufacturers from the forest economy, agri-food, chemical, automotive, transportation, aviation, pharmaceutical and financial sectors, small and medium enterprises, business and industry leaders, officials from government and non-government organizations and policy makers, who all share the common vision for a global bio-based economy that is built upon the principles of energy, environmental and economic sustainability.

Submission Guidelines

Interested presenters should submit an abstract of maximum 350 words, in English. Each abstract may only be submitted once and under one topic.

Abstracts can be accepted as either poster or oral (i.e. PowerPoint) presentations. Presenters who do not register before the registration deadline may also forfeit their spot in the agenda.

All submissions will be reviewed for originality, merit, relevance, clarity, fit, and alignment with conference objectives. Please comply with the guidelines of the submission template in order to ensure due consideration of your submission by the International Scientific Committee.

For each confirmed presentation, a headshot and a brief bio of each presenter should be provided.
