The objective of the Food Security for Students project is to ensure that our students can concentrate on their studies by working to eliminate student hunger at Lakehead University.

Your gift supports programming that includes but is not limited to:

  • Free and subsidized breakfast and lunch programs
  • Cooking classes
  • The Good Food Box (a box of fresh fruits and vegetables at a subsidized cost)
  • Emergency food support
  • Subsidized Fresh Food Markets
  • Ramadan program (nutritious meals that are specifically prepared for fasting students)

The Food Security for Students project supports initiatives of the Lakehead University Food Security Committee, a collaborative effort by our Student Affairs Office, student leaders, professors, researchers, and staff, offering key support programs on our campuses.

Your gift will allow the Committee the flexibility to provide additional support as needed and respond to immediate and changing needs of students.
