The Youth in Care Tuition Bursary program provides former or current youth in the care of a child welfare society the opportunity to apply for a bursary to support their university education.

The program is open to former and current youth in care from one of the local or regional (Northwestern Ontario and Simcoe County) Children's Aid Societies or Indigenous Child Welfare Agencies, regardless of age.

Launched in 2022, the goal of the Youth in Care Tuition Bursary program is to provide access to post-secondary education regardless of personal circumstances.

Your gift will reduce barriers for students.

The program supports current and incoming high-school graduates as well as mature students who are currently or were formerly in the foster care system in Simcoe County or Northwestern Ontario for at least one year.

The program will support two full-time students each year – one at the Thunder Bay campus and one at the Orillia campus – until a maximum of eight students is reached annually. The bursary will be renewable for up to four years.
