Help Lakehead University's Claude Garton Herbarium fundraise to maintain our rose family (Roseaceae) collections! Northwestern Ontario is home to 54 native rose species, from woodland strawberry to the more typical wild prickly rose, and the Claude Garton Herbarium houses 2,000 specimens collected over the last 100 years. New native rose species are still being described, including a hybrid native to Ontario (Rosa x oldhamii). This is where you come in! You can play a key role in botanical research and collections in Northwestern Ontario. Our rose vouchers are in need of maintenance and taxonomic updates to maintain a high quality of research and teaching at Lakehead. Your donation will be used to ensure that the Roseaceae are cared for and maintained for future generations of students to learn from.

Your donation will be used to hire a student to ensure that the Roseaceae are cared for and maintained for future generations of students to learn from for many years to come.
