Please use the form below to register for the symposium.
Your conference registration fee includes morning and afternoon breaks, lunch each day, the icebreaker reception on August 5th and the banquet on August 7th.
Early registration rates are $450 +HST for professionals and $200 +HST for students (all values in Canadian dollars). The early registration will end at midnight EST on June 1st with rates increasing to $600 +HST for professionals and $250 +HST for students.
The deadline to register for field trips is July 8th but please note that space on all field trips is limited so register soon if you are interested.

Trip 1 - Geology of the Lac des Iles Palladium Mine (Fee - $120 +HST) (SOLD OUT!)
Trip will depart from Thunder Bay on August 5th and return the same day.
Covered expenses include:
- Transportation by coach bus.
- Lunch and snacks.
Trip 2 - Cu-PGE Deposits of the Coldwell Complex (Caldera), Ontario (Fee - $450 +HST) (SOLD OUT!)
Trip will depart from Thunder Bay on August 4th and return on August 5th.
Covered expenses include:
- Transportation.
- All meals, snacks, and refreshments (water, soda, coffee).
- Lodging for 1 night.
Trip 3 - Mesoproterozoic Ni-Cu Deposits of Northeastern Minnesota (Fee - $1150 +HST)
Trip will depart from Thunder Bay on August 9th and return to Thunder Bay on August 12th.
Note – It may be possible to combine trips 3 and 4 if people are interested.
Covered expenses include:
- Transportation by coach bus.
- All meals, snacks, and refreshments (water, soda, coffee) with the exceptions of dinner on Saturday (Ely), dinner on Sunday (Duluth), and breakfast on Monday (Duluth) which will be at the participant's expense. A hearty snack (but no dinner) will be provided on the bus ride back to Thunder Bay on Monday evening.
- Double occupancy lodging for 3 nights (Fri, Sat, & Sun).
A limited number of single occupancy lodgings are available for an additional $350 CAD for all 3 nights.(Single Occupancy SOLD OUT!)
Trip 4 - Geology and Mineral Deposits Along the Southern Margin of the Midcontinent Rift (Fee - $1600 +HST) (SOLD OUT!)
Trip will start in Duluth, Minnesota with a walking tour on the evening of August 11th and will return to Duluth on the evening of August 15th.
Note – It may be possible to combine trips 3 and 4 if people are interested.
Covered expenses include:
- Transportation van
- Lunch and snacks during the field trip. Participants are responsible for breakfast and dinner each day
- Double occupancy lodging for 3 nights (11th, 12th and 13th). Participants are responsible for their own accommodation costs on the 10th and 14th but a block booking has been secured at a Duluth hotel
