About C2U Expo
C2U Expo is Canada's leading conference on community-based research. It is a conference that explores the edge of community-college-university partnerships as catalysts for social innovation. Formerly hosted by Simon Fraser University (2017) and Carleton University (2015), the event will attract 400 delegates from around the globe to Lakehead University from June 5 through June 8, 2023.
C2U Expo 2023's theme is Connected Communities. Collective Change. Come together with community champions, community-based researchers, and community engagement professionals across Turtle Island and beyond to inspire new ways of sharing knowledge and co-create innovative solutions during challenging times.
Every year, C2U Expo expands to include more topics and areas of expertise. At the same time, we strive to keep the level of interactivity of engagement that comes from fostering dialogue among the community, post-secondary and government.
A history of C2U engagement...
When the idea of community-campus partnerships was in its first stages of growth, researchers and community groups needed more resources to turn to for guidance. The C2U Expo movement began in Canada to address this shortage and provide individuals involved in community-campus partnerships with a forum to share experiences, strategies, and ideas.
